Our Roots

From Our Kitchen to Your Table

What started as a handmade Christmas gift has grown into an award-winning Texas tradition — crafted to help you slow down, share good food, and celebrate life’s everyday joys we call Tiny Fiestas.

How It Started

In the late 1980s, the two Margarets, pictured above — mother Margaret Ellen and daughter Margaret Love — began making salsa as a Christmas gift for friends and clients. Each jar was sealed with green duct tape and a Sharpie-written tag — a true labor of love from our kitchen.

We didn’t realize it then, but that simple holiday tradition would one day become Dos Margaritas Salsa, a celebration of flavor, family, and everyday joy.

The Flavor of Texas Sweet Heat

Our friends kept asking for “just one more jar.” Before long, our salsa made its debut at backyard parties and tailgates — and even took home its first trophy at the 2nd Annual (now 36 years running) 1992 Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival.

Decades later, our sweet-heat Tex-Mex flavor is still bringing people together across Texas and now the whole USA— one chip and one Tiny Fiesta at a time.

For Life’s Tiny Fiestas

We believe the best celebrations aren’t fancy or far away — they’re the Tuesday-night tacos, Friday margaritas, or impromptu porch hang outs with people you love. Definitely game day too!

That’s what we call a Tiny Fiesta: an everyday moment worth slowing down for.
Our salsas are made for those moments — simple, vibrant, and full of heart.

Our Mission - Enable More Tiny Fiestas

Dos Margaritas Salsa gives a portion of proceeds (and time) to support organizations like Compassion Corsicana and WHAM (West Houston Area Ministries).

These organizations help families in crisis with financial support, food pantries, job training, and spiritual care.

Fun fact: Margarita #2's husband Jeff even used to work for Compassion Corsicana.

Every purchase you make helps us contribute to our mission. Thank you!

From Our Family to Yours

Today, Dos Margaritas Salsa is still run by the same mother-daughter duo who started it all.

Every jar carries the same love, laughter, and Tex-Mex spirit that began in our kitchen decades ago.

Grab your chips, gather your people, and start a Tiny Fiesta of your own. Let's go!
